Special Guest: Elder Ronelle Jones - Pastor, True Vine COGIC, Tacoma, WA

Elder Ronelle Jones

Many are called to the ministry of Christ through a myriad of life’s challenges and serendipitous events that help guide one’s journey. Few, however, have the divine pedigree of an international spiritual leader, pastor, youth minister, teacher, and motivational speaker like Ronelle C Jones. The teachings of Jesus Christ are embedded in his DNA, passed down generation to generation from his grandfather, the late Bishop Leo C Brown, Jr., his grandmother, the late Missionary Barbara Jean Brown, his late mother, Evangelist Debbie R. Jones, and his father, Pastor Robert E. Jones, Sr.

Ronelle C. Jones is the sixth of seven children born to Pastor Robert Jones, Sr. and his late wife Debbie. Theirs was a devout home centered around love, family, and a spiritual community of people from all walks of life. The exposure to this diverse community enabled Elder Jones to learn the importance of effective communication to help deliver the Word of God, especially when working in multi-generational congregations. His father, the Pastor, taught the importance of firm beliefs and clear vision, while his mother, the Evangelist, invoked passion for ministry to all. From his grandparents, he was raised in compassion and grace, giving rise to what Elder Jones’ true gift; his ability to build bridges between disparate groups through innovative leadership, exceptional capacity to listen, and a moral/ethical foundation built on biblical principles.

At the age of seventeen (17), Elder Jones was filled with the Holy Ghost at True Vine Community Church of God in Christ. In 2004, Elder Jones attended Lemoyne Owen College in Mem-phis Tennessee. He accepted ]his call to the ministry at eighteen (18) and became a licensed Minister at the age of nineteen (19) and preached his first sermon “Fulfill the Purpose in You” at his home church, Lively Hope Church of God in Christ. In 2010, he was tapped to be the Supervisor of Ministries, tasked with organizing and hosting annual leadership conferences for the next two years. In 2012 became an ordained Elder. He accepted the full-time position as Youth Pastor at Greater Community Temple Church of God in Christ under the guidance of Bishop Brandon B. Porter. From 2012-2015, Elder Jones served as the Vice President of the Tennessee Central Jurisdictional Youth Department and was promoted to President in 2016.

After serving seven wonderful years in Memphis, Tennessee, God called Elder Jones to return to Washington State where he coordinated the Inaugural Pastors & Elders Conference in 2019. At the height of the pandemic, Bishop Brown asked Elder Jones to spearhead the 45th Pastoral Appreciation service, where he surpassed revenue goals by raising over $21,000. He continues to honor those that came before him, creating the 2020 “Legacy Walk” in Tacoma honoring of his late grandfather.

Most recently, Presiding Bishop J. Drew Sheard appointed Elder Jones to the International Youth Department, serving as its National Director of Youth Church. This enables Elder Jones’ globally focused ministry to an international audience. Elder Jones has travelled extensively bringing spiritually innovative platform to churches and local communities across the United States.

Elder Jones has been brought into this world to deliver a message of divine teaching, the power of God and compassion for all. Professional athletes, community change-makers and future leaders all seek his council. His wisdom, fresh perspective and moral compass work together to help Spiritually guide people through changing and challenging times. In August 2021 Elder Jones was appointed Pastor of True Vine Community Church of God in Christ continuing the ministry founded by his grandfather, Bishop Leo C Brown, Jr., for over forty-six (46) years ago. He honors the established traditions, while fostering the vision God gave him to grow the ministry by delivering Christ’s teaching and God’s Word to all.

Ronelle C. Jones currently resides in Washington with his loving wife DraVonne, and two beautiful daughters, Gabrielle and Gianna.

Rev. Dr. Robert L. Jeffry, Sr.

Speaker: Rev. Dr. Robert L. Jeffrey, Sr., Pastor, New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Seattle, WA

Rev. Dr. Robert Jeffrey, Sr. was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, the second oldest of 16 children. He was raised in rural Oklahoma and schooled in Virginia.

Rev. Jeffrey has been involved in economic development all his life and has been a constant advocate for those who are systematically locked out of economic opportunities in this country. In 1975, Rev. Jeffrey received the Doctor of Ministry Degree from Union Theological Seminary in Richmond, Virginia. During his nine year tenure as Senior Pastor of Pilgrim Baptist Church in Roanoke, Virginia, Rev. Jeffrey was an active member on the Board of Directors of Total Action Against Poverty, founded an inner-city community mental health house, was honored as a leader in the "War Against Poverty" by the City of Roanoke, was presented with the Key to the City of Roanoke when honored as an outstanding civil rights leader, and acquired seven acres of land for an educational building for the church. While in Virginia, Rev. Jeffrey served as Dean of the School of Religion at the Virginia College and Seminary in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Rev. Jeffrey relocated to Seattle, Washington in 1986 to become the Senior Pastor of the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Pastor Jeffrey came with a vision, a mind to work, new programs, a spirit to lead, a willingness to teach us to do it God's way, and new ministries. Program instituted under his leadership include the purchase and renovation of a home to provide transitional housing for homeless women and children, an annual walk-a-thon to raise funds for community services, a feeding program administer by the church, implementation of the "Lock-In Program" for at-risk youth, and a yearly park revival outreach program.

In 1988, Pastor Jeffrey founded the Black Dollar Days Task Force (BDDTF), a non-profit organization committed to facilitating economic self-sufficiency for inner-city African Americans. It is in this capacity that he is most recognized in the City of Seattle - as a dynamic advocate for every person's right to dignity. The BDDTF promotes economic development, self-sufficiency, and community cohesiveness and achieves its goals through the energies of grassroots people eager to control their own destiny. In early 1994, Pastor Jeffrey launched "Campaign 5000", an effort to build an African American Community Endowment Fund which in turn has created a micro-enterprise loan fund.

Pastor Jeffrey has become intimately involved in his community through providing leadership on the Governor of Washington State's transitional team and by serving on the boards of the Boys and Girls Club of Seattle, the Church Council of Greater Seattle, and Washington State SANE/Freeze. He has received numerous awards including the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Service Award and the W.E.B. Dubois Talented Tenth Award.

Rev. Jeffrey is married to Karen A. Washington Jeffrey, and they are the proud and loving parents of Robert Jr., Porche, Michael, Nyoka, Jasmine and Susan Elouise.
