SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

Located in the heart of Seattle, New Hope Missionary Baptist Church was founded in 1949 as a beacon of “New Hope” for those seeking to gather in His name; this mission continues to transform our community as we Glorify God on all Levels. We offer one worship service and one bible study per week, which we have been livestreaming since 2019. As we look forward to a post-pandemic world, we are looking to expand livestreaming to all services/programs in our sanctuary. Our system includes a remotely controlled pan-tilt-zoom camera, two stationary cameras, Roland mixer, OBS software for streaming and uses ProPresenter software to manage titles and graphics in real time.

The Livestream Production Associate will help run this livestreaming system. They will work with and be supported by the Media Director to produce a high quality, immersive worship experience for our remote congregation. This position will be filled by one or more candidates for on-call assignments. The ideal candidate is reliable and creative, works well under pressure and is able to switch gears quickly, and is interested in learning and developing skills in the video/livestream production field.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Train and practice with the new livestream system during a worship service with the Media Director.
• As assigned, assist with livestream production of our worship services or events, including but not limited to:

o Using ProPresenter to insert names, titles, hymn lyrics and graphics into the livestream
o Controlling camera views and angles through the operation of a video switcher and joystick
o Hosting the live chat during the worship service

• A/V equipment set up, troubleshooting, and break down
• Edit videos in post-production and upload to social media and our website

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with live video production (can include social media like Facebook Live)
• Demonstrated interest and investment in live video production. The candidate will be fully trained on our new system, so prior experience with operating PTZ cameras, using a video switcher, etc. is not
required. We are looking for someone who is excited to learn and grow with us.
• Students studying film, multimedia production, telecommunications technologies, digital media content creation, etc. are encouraged to apply.
• Display an artistic eye for video, shooting, editing, etc. with an excellent eye for framing and composition
• Detail-oriented, strong planning, and excellent communication skills, and ability to take direction
• Calm and clear-headed under pressure; ability to think on your feet and quickly problem solve.
• Comfortable working in a diverse, faith-based community
• Reliable, timely and communicative

YOU’LL STAND OUT IF YOU HAVE

• Experience operating multi-camera systems
• A foundational understanding of audio systems and sound mixing
• Experience with livestream platforms such as livestream.com, Streamyard, OBS, etc.
• Proficiency with a graphics platform, especially ProPresenter.
• Experience evaluating and enhancing accessibility of online content (ex. closed captioning videos)
• Experience working with volunteers
